Housekeeper quick start guide
Yado shows you a simple, focused list of the rooms you actually need to work on today — no clutter from rooms that aren't yours.
On this page
1. Your room list
When you sign in, you'll see the room grid filtered to just what's relevant to you: rooms scheduled for service today that are either assigned to you, or not yet assigned to anyone. You won't see rooms assigned to other housekeepers, or rooms with nothing scheduled — this keeps your list to exactly what you need to get through.
Each card is colour-coded so you can tell at a glance what's needed:
- Blue — needs a full clean.
- Light blue — needs a fix (a quicker touch-up).
- Green — already marked done.
2. Opening a room
Tap a room card to open it. If there's a note from the front desk about that room (a "desk note"), it'll show right at the top so you don't miss it — for example a request for extra towels, or a heads-up about the guest.
3. Marking a room done
Once you've finished a room, open it and mark it done, choosing the outcome that fits:
- Cleaned — everything's in order.
- Dirty — flag if the room needs more attention than you could give it (e.g. needs maintenance to look at something first).
- Damaged — flag any damage you find so it gets looked at.
The room turns green on the grid once marked done, and drops off everyone else's outstanding count.
4. Adding photos and notes
From a room's detail view you can:
- Add a note — a short message visible to the front desk and other staff, useful for flagging anything worth knowing about that room.
- Attach a photo — the photo option opens your device's camera directly, so it's a quick in-the-moment capture rather than picking through your camera roll. Handy for documenting damage or anything unusual before you leave the room.
5. Made a mistake?
If you mark a room done and realise it was wrong — wrong room, wrong outcome, whatever — open the room again. If you're the one who completed it, you'll see an option to undo it and set it back to pending, as long as it's still today. If the window's passed or you completed it a while ago, ask your front desk to revert it for you — they can undo any room, not just their own.
